Join the Women’s Leadership Committee in conversation with Deerfield resident and author Lisa Barr at the Chicago premiere of her multi-award-winning novel, Woman On Fire, a gripping story about a young, ambitious journalist who becomes embroiled in an international art scandal centered around a Nazi-looted masterpiece. The book was recently named as part of Katie Couric's 2022 Reading Guide.

Lisa, the daughter of a Holocaust Survivor, has a treasure trove of stories to share from her journalism career as an editor for The Jerusalem Post, managing editor of Today's Chicago Woman, and as an editor/reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times. Lisa covered the famous “handshake” between the late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, the late PLO leader Yasser Arafat, and President Bill Clinton at the White House; and has been featured on Good Morning America and Today for her work as an author, journalist, and blogger.

Hear these stories and Lisa’s personal insights about the creation of her new book.
